Held from March 31st to April 1st 2017, the Asian Arts in Australia conference acts as a cross-disciplinary platform combined renowned Asian Australian visual artists, spoken word performers, choreographers, theatre makers, musicians and academics in dialogue, and presented a series of short performances and in-depth panel discussions that explore the long history of Asia in Australian arts and charts possible futures for this ongoing cultural engagement.
Bringing together diverse communities in conversation in new and innovative ways, this event was conceived and organized by Dr. Priya Srinivasan, with Dr. Nithya Nagarajan, Nithya Iyer, and Raina Peterson in partnership with the Asia Institute, The University of Melbourne and AsiaTOPA.
